3G2 to GIF Converter Software converts 3G2 files
to GIF in batch. GIF is playable in any web browsers. So you can put 3G2 video
on your website or blog by converting 3G2 to GIF. 3G2 to GIF Converter
Software is an all-in-one video and audio converter. The software also supports
common file format such as TS, OGM, OGV, 3GP, VCD, etc. It could convert 3G2 to 3GP, ANM to DVD Video, WMV to 3GP, 3G2 to DVD Video, M4V to H.264 AVC, and
so on.
3G2 to GIF Converter Software supports batch conversion
that enables you convert bulk 3G2 files to GIF at a time. The software is
fully compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000.
What is 3G2?
3G2 is a video file format that is used primarily on cellular phones. In
addition, 3G2 stores audio streams as EVRC, EVRC-B, EVRC-WB, 13K (QCELP),
SMV or VMR-WB, which was specified by 3GPP2 for use in ISO base media file
format. You can easily view your 3G2 videos on your cell phone. 3G2 format
should not be mixed up with 3GP, although they are both applicable to third
generation mobile phone systems. The main difference between the two is
that whereas 3GP specifications are based on GSM (Global System for Mobile
Communications), 3G2 specifications are based on CDMA (Code Division Multiple
Access). A 3G mobile phone can play 3G2 files, but some 2G and 4G phones
can as well. For the storage of MPEG-4 media (MPEG-4 Part 2, MPEG-4 Part
3 - AAC, MPEG-4 Part 10 - H.264/AVC) in 3G2 files, the 3G2 specification
refers to the MP4 file format and the AVC file format specification, which
described usage of this content in the ISO base media file format. 3G2
file format does not store Enhanced aacPlus (HE-AAC v2) and AMR-WB+ audio
streams. In general, if a cell phone record a 3g2 video, it should conform
to the 3G2 standard. The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3G/3GPP) is
a collaboration agreement that was established in December 1998. Defined
by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project and 3rd Generation Partnership
Project 2 respectively, these standards seek to provide uniform delivery
of rich multimedia over newly evolved, broadband mobile networks (3rd generation
networks) to the latest multimedia-enabled wireless devices. The 3G2 file
format can store the same video streams and most of the audio streams used
in the 3GP file format.
What is GIF?
GIF, or Graphic Interchange Format, is a file extension for an often animated
raster graphics file and is the second most common image format used on
the World Wide Web after JPEG. GIF uses the LZW compression algorithm and
is owned by Unisys. Though Unisys licensing statement indicates a license
is required to use GIF files, in practice they have not required it and
many downloaders and website builders remain ignorant to the required license
and GIF's proposed patent-free replacement in PNG. To render a full-color
image as a GIF, the original image must be broken down into smaller regions
having no more than 255 or 256 different colors. Each of these regions
is then stored as a separate image block with its own local palette and
when the image blocks are displayed together (either by tiling or by layering
partially transparent image blocks) the complete, full-color image appears.
For example, breaking an image into tiles of 16 by 16 pixels (256 pixels
in total) ensures that no tile has more than the local palette limit of
256 colors, although larger tiles may be used and similar colors merged
resulting in some loss of color information. There are two versions of
the GIF format; versions 87a and 89a. These versions were released in 1987
and 1989 respectively. GIF 87a: the initial version of the GIF file format
supported LZW file compression, interlacing, 256-colour palettes and multiple
image storage. Version 89a added background transparency and a few other
additions such as delay times and image replacement parameters which made
the multiple image storage feature more useful for animation. Extension
blocks (blocks that "extend" the 87a definition via a mechanism
already defined in the 87a spec) consist of the sentinel, an additional
byte specifying the type of extension, and a linked list of sub-blocks
with the extension data. Extension blocks that modify an image (like the
Graphic Control Extension that specifies the optional animation delay time
and optional transparent background color) must immediately precede the
segment with the image they refer to.
